WHAT IS THE OFF DE CANNES CHALLENGE ?

The purpose of the “OFF” of Cannes is to put into limelight NEW TALENTS around a 3mn film competition during the Cannes Festival. This event held during the Cannes Festival gives the opportunity to reward the participants of the most creative competition around the theme “THE KAT LADIES”.

Created by Alain Zirah in 2005, this ceremony celebrates its 5th birthday and is organized by the society named CINQ REGARDS.

This event has already brought together many celebrities and enabled a substantial number of new talents to be discovered on the fringe of the world biggest cinema festival and to put under the limelights creative talents around the cinema...

Further to this success, we renew this event in 2010. The competition will reward new talents creativity in various categories: cinema, photography, painting, blogs and fashion, every time with "THE KAT LADIES” theme.

The « KAT LADIES » concept was born from the creative imagination of Alain Zirah, aka AZED. Supporter of the underground culture and faithful reader of American comics (MARVEL & DC-COMICS), Alain Zirah has created a universe having for main characters “Kat-Ladies”. Since its creation in May 2005, the LadyKat character has not ceased to rouse the festival goers’ curiosity participating to the many VIP’S evening outings during the Cannes Festival. Facing such an interest, Alain Zirah has chosen this concept of “KAT LADIES” as a recurring theme to celebrate the annual ceremony of the “Cannes Off”.
